Encyclopedia
The Bangalore High-Speed Rail Link (HSRL) is a proposed railway line to connect the city center with Bengaluru International Airport (BIA). The $1.2bn project will run along the National Highway 7 and cover a distance of 35 km from MG Road up to the BIA.

Four stations viz., Cubbon Road (City Center check-in station), Hebbal (Check-in station), Yelahanka (pick-up station) and Bangalore International Airport Terminal Station have been planned along the stretch.

The project is estimated to cost Rs. 5700 crore (U$1.27 billion) and the travelling time is expected to be 30 mins. A tender is being prepared, and several consortia are expected to bid for the construction deal.

The plan for having an independent body for Bangalore High-Speed Rail Link has been dropped, now it will be managed by Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC).
