Professor Ojo was named the chairman of the governing council of Michael Imodu National Institute for Labor Studies, a parastatal of the Nigerian federal Ministry of Employment, Labor and Productivity, by President Obasanjo in October 2005.He was part of the Nigerian delegation to the ILO annual conference in June 2006 and led the Nigerian labor delegation to South Africa in February 2006 and was part of the Labor team/legislators delegation to Washington DC in August 2006. He however resigned his chairmanship to run for Ekiti state governor in November 2006. In November 2006, he came second in the PDP primary and the run off between him and the candidate who came first(Yinka Akerele) was cancelled by President Obasanjo and the candidate who came third, Mr Segun Oni was named the party candidate for the governorship election in April 2007. Segun Oni later won the election. Prof Ojo was recently appointed by President Yar Adua of Nigeria as member of the Governing Council of the Federal Institute for Trypanosomiasis Research (Federal Ministry of Science & Technology).Seehttp://www.nigeriafirst.org/printer_8836.shtml .
