Balacalva has a lively pretty Market, and the St Luke Anglican Church , where many victims of the Kendall Train Crash (1957) are buried.

Nearby the village of Marlborough Hill offers great scenic walks and tranquillity. The Armstrong bar for relation, local entertainment and great conversation with local clientele.
