Bakshi Ka Talab is an area situated at North side in city of Lucknow consisting of both residential and business settlements. It is one of the largest and upcoming areas of Lucknow. Bakshi Ka Talab is an organised settlement developed by Lucknow Development Authority (LDA).

First In start congress won with combination with bhramin,harijan and Muslim, PT.RAMPAL TRIVEDI of Inc won in 1967, 1972and 1977.,He is the first M.L.A of congress who make Hactrik from Mahona and earlier he won from Malihabad in 1957 and 1962, and after 1990 yadav come in power SP make combination of Muslim yadav and Bjp make bhramin thakur upper caste and yadav .Yadav are deciding factor one time they move with Sp and other with BJP (gomti Yadav ) in 2002 sp make more strong due to thakur move in SP but one thing is important that harijaan was always with BSP and BSP got always 3 rd place .in 2007 BSP play bhramin Card and all bhramin shift to BSP .2007 BSP win vidshan sabha seat.
Now area poltics is in new mood,Gomti yadav shifted to Samajwadi Party.Now war is between gomti yadav(SP) and nakul dubey (BSP).Sp will got vote of Yadavs very solid because gomti yadav has very good repo in yadav.90% Thakur will go to Congress (Sunita Singh).Muslim Vote will get split between Congress(major part-60%) and BSP due to gomti yadav.Gomti yadav was previously in BJP and link to Ramjanam bhoomi movement. Peace Party is likely to get into a pact with Congress like RLD. Pasi vote to go to Congress and BSP.Dalit majorly go to BSP but this election dalit % vote will down,Bhramin vote break in many parts Bsp & Bjp.The fight will be between Sp,BSP and Congress. But If u count 2007 assembly election of mohona and minus those area which are not in BKT assembly the real result was bsp got 37785 vote,sp get 36 405,bjp only get 17542 and congress get 18952 votes .now real combition will turn bsp lose vote of Brahmin and some dalit too it means bsp is turn around between 30,000 vote .Sp will lose majorly Muslim and minor Thakur vote. Reason Muslim was divide into SP and Bsp in 2007 election but in this election it divide into bsp and congress Thakur vote was 70 % with sunita singh so no more chance to exceed .But gomti yadav has good image in yadav so yadav will push max vote to him it means Sp will get at least 32000 vote .sunita singh will get if Muslim proper vote to him 25000 again Brahmin make main factor in this election but anupam tripathi make major factor for that. He will also get at least 7000 vote which make BSP lose but if Brahmin change mood then BSP again has major chance .A very good fight is waiting between nakul,gomti and sunita . It will get more interesting if BJP puts in a Yadav candidate, which is very likely as it will impact Sp's votes by at least 10%.

Raja Tripur Chand Bakshi was an erstwhile war co-ordinator of Nawab Amjad Ali Shah of Lucknow (Awadh) during the period 1842 to 1845. This beautiful ancient heritage structure have ghats on four sides of the pond and eight historical tombs. In addition, you may see two Krishna and Shiva temples situated on the ‘talab’ campus. Devotees come from far off areas to worship in these age old temples.

Mahona Vidhansabha is converted into Bakshi Ka talab Vidhan Sabha seat, 3/4 gomti nagar, indira nagar, mahanagar, nishatganj, and jankipuram is out from this seat. Now this seat has only Bakshi ka talab block, chinhat block, itonja nagar panchyat, mahona nagar panchyat, balshi ka talab nagar panchyat, some area of gomti nagar and jankipuram ext. History
The name of this town come from an ancient Talab ( water pond) that was constructed by Raja Tripur Chandra Bakshi in the year 1840, therefore this pond was called 'Bakshi ka Talab' ( Bakshi’s pond).They Made this Talab for security of people because at that time there were bhramin sena who attacked on people led by 'PT Jagannath Shukla.Raja Tripur Chand Bakshi was an erstwhile war co-ordinator of Nawab Amjad Ali Shah of Lucknow (Awadh) during the period 1842 to 1845. This beautiful ancient heritage structure have ghats on four sides of the pond and eight historical tombs. In addition, you may see two Krishna and Shiva temples situated on the ‘talab’ campus. Devotees come from far off areas to worship in these age old temples.
