Bagula is mainly populated by Bengali speaking people. Bagula, the small town is known for Akanno Pith (51) Kalir Mela, which is held in a famous Grave yard situated on the bank of the railway station. This town also has a famous Post Office in the middle of the Bazaar. The people of surrounding villages (e.g. Durgapur, Koikhali, Pandit pur, Bara Chupria, Garapota, Bhawani pur, Kuti Para, Gour Nagar, Mura Gacha, Haldi Para) do the marketing of all needs in the Bazaar.
