Baat Hamari Pakki Hai is an India

Each time a prospective groom arrives; Saachi is displayed like a commodity and is often held responsible when the alliance does not work out. Saachi goes through the humiliation of being displayed and then rejected time and again, till one day Saachi finally meets her match Shravan. Saachi's rishta is fixed with Shravan but this joy also proves to be short-lived as Saachi realizes that Shravan loves someone else.
Shravan is shown to be lazy and irresponsible while Saachi portrays a loving, mature and responsible girl. The families of the protagonists attempt to solve the issues between the couple. Finally, Saachi and Shravan get married and decide to make it a contract marriage where they will divorce after six months because Shravan loves Tara.
While on a honeymoon, both get drunk at a bar and that night appear to have slept together. Tara finds out and dumps him. Shravan decides to patch up his relationship with Saachi. All of the family members try to make Shravan fall for Saachi. A long while later, Shravan realizes he is in love with Saachi and confesses his love to her after a romantic session. Saachi also confesses her love and the two of them are finally happy.
Shravan takes the marriage contract they had made and attempts to burn it but later realizes he had grabbed the wrong paper. The marriage contract ends up in Shravan's father's hands and he is humiliated. However, now that Shravan and Saachi truly love each other, they are determined to prove their love. Shravan's father makes them divorce and tells Shravan that if he can get 1 lakh in thirty days, he'll prove himself responsible and that he truly loves Saachi. Shravan heads out to find a job, however he is unsuccessful.
After a while, Shravan gets a job in a garage, working there trying to get 1 lakh. While working, he sees a poster about a race and the winner will get 1 lakh. Shravan enters the race and wins. Saachi and Shravan go to receive the check for 1 lakh. They happily take it and drive away to start a new life. Saachi looks at the check and realizes that it's not a 1 lakh check--instead, it's a check for only 70,000 rupees. After that they find out it was taxes so it went down to 70 000.
Sachi and Shravan now live in a marriage house, saying they are Jack and Jerry. Later, they are accepted back into Shravan's family. Saachi then meets with an accident, resulting in her losing her memory. In an attempt to get it back, the end result becomes such that Saachi gets her memory back but forgets everything after 24 hours, which means that each day, she will have to be reminded of her life and her loved ones. However, Shravan still loves Saachi despite this condition and the story ends on a good note.
Saachi (also referred to as Sachi or Sanchi) is a 21-year-old girl, who lost her parents when she was five and was then raised by her Mami and Mama. Saachi is a mature, sensible, responsible, simple girl who unfortunately has been rejected by many prospective grooms or their families for no fault of her. She knows that the only tension eating up her Mama and Mami is her marriage. Sachi faces the turmoil of going being prepped and then displayed like a commodity each time a rishta happens to come by but she does it with a smile on her face. She truly believes what her mama mami decide will be in her best interest. But her paths keep crossing with Shravan hinting an alliance that destiny has planned for her though she is completely oblivious to this.
He is twenty-three years old, part of a rich family of jewellers and is the youngest of three brothers. Shravan is spoilt, confused, and irresponsible. This callous attitude becomes a point of contention with his father, who Shravan is very scared of and has nicknamed – Hitler. Shravan's family believes that marriage would make him responsible hence they take him around to see different girls. But Shravan keeps rejecting the girls left right and centre on some pre-text or the other which further infuriates his father. Shravan shares a strong bond with his older brother's wife — Nidhi bhabhi and he confides in her.
Tara is intelligent, and studies Medicine, and is focused on her studies to become a doctor. Shravan is secretly in love with her, while Tara thinks of Shravan as just a friend. Tara's father doesn't accept Shravan and thinks he is a disturbance to Tara's studies. Later on, Shravan proposes to Tara to confess his love for her and this doesn't impress Nidhi, as she prefers Shravan to be engaged to Sachi. After Nidhi talks to Tara in private, she tells Shravan she is not the one for him. Shravan doesn't listen and continues loving Tara. Later, after they meet in the swimming pool, Tara confesses her love for Shravan(while he is married to Saachi). Shravan accepts and they embrace each other. Later on in the series, Tara officially proposes to Shravan while he is on his honeymoon with Saachi, and he does not accept because of an incident that occurred with Saachi and Shravan where they were both drunk and slept together unintentionally. Tara slaps him on the face, telling him that she doesn't ever want to see him again, and leaves him.
Inder is Saachi's mama and is a ghar-jamai as he lives with his wife Usha's parents in their house and also runs their family business of gemstones. Though he has a mind of his own he sometimes gets subdued by his wife antics. He is a good husband and son-in law and is very close to his father in law — Babu. He has raised his deceased sister's child- Saachi as if she is his own daughter and wants to see her get married and settled. He tries his best to ensure that Saachi finds a good, loving husband and create a new family.
Usha is Saachi's mami who lives with a solo agenda of getting her married. Though she is a mother figure to Saachi, she considers her a responsibility and believes that like Saachi's schooling and graduation, her marriage too should take place at the right time, so that tomorrow's society would not point at her saying that she discriminated against Saachi because she wasn't her own daughter. Mami lives and breathes with the desire that soon she will be able to get Saachi married and when the alliance does not work out she is almost tormented. She wants to get Saachi's marriage over and done with, so that it's not a big deal to her anymore.
He is mami's father and loves Saachi like his own granddaughter. He opposes the process of Saachi being paraded in front of boys and their families. Nanu has great knowledge of gemstones, astrology and believes that someone is made for sachi and how that person will walk in her life at the right time. In this case, making Saachi appear like a "souvenir" in front of different boys and their families is very unfair to Saachi herself. His support for Saachi sometimes causes a rift with his wife.
Nani is mami's mother and is a complete contrast to her husband. She treats Saachi as a burden and leaves no stone unturned to display her dislike towards her. Outspoken and sometimes even rude, she has maintained an account of all the expenditure her daughter and son-in-law have incurred to raise Saachi.
Shravan's father is a strict disciplinarian and a man of principles and ethics.. He runs a jewellery business and is one of the riches people in their town.. He dislikes Shravan for his callous approach towards life and often blames the women in his house for spoiling Shravan.
Shravan's mother, Madura thinks his son is the apple of her eye and pampers him silly. She can't bear to hear a word against him. She feels that once Shravan gets married, he will become responsible as well. Her own dream is too get Shravan married to a nice, beautiful girl who is loving to Shravan and thus see Shravan happily married and settled like her older sons.
Saurabh is the oldest brother of Shravan who runs the family business with his father but keeps talking about Shravan that "abhi iske hansne khelne ke din hain". He also pampers Shravan to the core by giving into his demands each time.
Shravan shares a special bond with his Bhabhi – Nidhi. Shravan is very close to her, as he thinks of her as a close friend and someone who he can share his secrets and everything else with. Shravan usually never hides anything from her and runs to her in situations of crisis and she is the one who gets caught up in many dilemmas, and therefore protects Shravan from his father's rage.
He does not pamper Shravan like Saurabh and corrects him whenever he is wrong.
She is not blind to Shravan's fault and always tries to correct him. She gets jealous because her father-in-law likes Saachi more than her.
She is a really kind and loving woman. She also spoils Shravan though is aware of his faults. She relies on Saachi to make Shravan responsible...

Plot
Baat Hamaari Pakki Hai is the story of Saachi, an orphan who lives with her Mama, Indar Sharma and Mami, Usha Sharma along with her younger cousin Shreya, Nani and Naanu.
