BC Statyba

BC Statyba was a legendary Vilnius
basketball club. The club was renamed to Lietuvos Rytas
in 1997. But in 2011 it was announced that Statyba will be revived. The club debuted in NKL
during the 2011-2012 season.

first basketball club was established, which was called Vilnius „Žalgiris“, but in 1964 the team was renamed to „Plastikas“.
During the 1965 Vilnius „Statyba“ became „Žalgiris“ association champions, in Lithuanian cup tournament „Statyba“ took third place.
In 1966 – „Statyba“ became Lithuania vice-champions (won silver medals).
In 1967 - „Statyba“ became representation basketball team of Vilniaus and debuted in USSR „A“ class championship and won fourth place.
During 1997 „Statyba“ was renamed to „Lietuvos Rytas“
