Awards of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of Russia

Known internationally as "EMERCOM", Russia's Ministry for Civil Defense, Emergency Situations and Disaster Relief is composed of both military and civilian personnel. It encompasses land, naval and air assets, the State Fire Service, rescue teams and its own academies. This article is dedicated to the award system of this ministry of the Russian Federation.

	Cross "For Valour" Крест «За доблесть»	№ 426	2005-05-30	Awarded to soldiers of the civil defence forces, military personnel, members of the State Fire Service or employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for bravery and courage shown in saving lives and property, flawless execution of duty, that were previously honoured with government or departmental awards.
	Medal "For Impeccable Service" Медаль «За Безупречную Службу»	№ 628	2000-12-18	Awarded to soldiers of the civil defence forces and civilian personnel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for perfect execution of their profession if earlier honoured with government or departmental awards and served in the MES of Russia for at least 10 years.
	Medal "For Mine Clearing" Медаль «За Разминирование»	№ 550	2005-07-18	Awarded to soldiers of the civil defence forces, military personnel and members of the state fire service, employees of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of Russia and in some cases, to other citizens of the Russian Federation for their dedication, courage and professionalism demonstrated in the detection and disposal of mines or explosive devices on the ground; for participation in international programs or projects concerning mine-clearance operations; for organizing and directing explosive disposal operations. 	Medal "For Courage In A Fire" Медаль «За отвагу на пожаре»	№ 570	2002-12-06	Awarded to soldiers, officers and employees of the State Fire Service of the Russian MES, army troops and civil defence officials of the Russian MES, and in some cases to other citizens of the Russian Federation for courage and dedication while extinguishing fires, rescuing people and saving property from fire; for leadership in leading fire fighting Fire fighting Firefighting is the act of extinguishing fires. 	Medal "For Distinction In Eliminating The Effects Of Emergency Situations" Медаль «За отличие в ликвидации последствий чрезвычайной ситуации»	№ 552	2005-07-18	Awarded to soldiers of the civil defence forces, the military or the State Fire Service, employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, for distinction, courage and dedication in carrying out assigned tasks in an emergency situation involving a risk to life; for ability, initiative and determination that contributed to the successful implementation of disaster management; for successfully leading the actions of subordinates in carrying out tasks in an emergency situation.
	Medal "Participant In Emergency Humanitarian Operations" Медаль «Участнику чрезвычайных гуманитарных операций»	№ 885	995-12-27	Awarded to individuals or organisations for their involvement in humanitarian relief operations and contributions to the organization of such future actions as well as for dedication and courage.
	Medal "For The Advocacy Of Rescue Affairs" Медаль «За пропаганду спасательного дела»	№ 723	2005-10-10	Awarded to soldiers, officers and employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, citizens who are actively engaged in promoting the activities of civil defence, protection of the population and territories from emergencies, disseminating best response practices when faced with accidents and disasters.
	Medal "75 years Of Civil Defence" Медаль «75 лет гражданской обороне»	№ 464	2007-08-24	Awarded to military and civilian personnel of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations, as well as citizens of the Russian Federation for merit and personal contribution to the development and improvement of activities in the field of Civil Defence, Civil Protection, and territories from emergencies, fire safety and water safety.
