Recipe
- Boiled and de-skinned Navy beans (Avre) 1 to 1/2 cups
- Shredded Coconut 3/4 cup
- Tamarind 1/2 teaspoon
- Dried Red chilies 4-5
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric
- 8 Garlic cloves
- Coconut oil 1 tablespoon
- Salt
- Cook the navy beans with 2 cups water in the cooker. Remove the skin from the beans.
- Grind coconut, dried red chilies, tamarind and turmeric together to a fine paste.
- Add the ground paste and salt to the cooked navy beans. Bring it to a boil.
- Crush the garlic cloves. Heat a small amount of oil and fry the garlic cloves till they turn brownish in color.
- Add this to the dish and close the lid.
