History

Aviogenex has more than 40 years of experience in flying under charter, sub charter and wet lease agreements. Aviogenex was founded in April 1968 as an air transport division of Generalexport, an enterprise for foreign and domestic trade, tourism and air transport. On April 30, 1969 Aviogenex operated its first flight from Belgrade to Düsseldorf on a Tu-134 aircraft.

In 1990 the airline flew 633,932 passengers, with 10 aircraft (5 Boeing 727 and 5 Boeing 737) reaching 17000 flight hours per year. Since 1991 Aviogenex has oriented to leasing of aircraft and crews, and achieved more than 40000 flight hours. In this period Aviogenex operated in Europe, Africa, the Middle and Far East, and South America. In 2010 they restarted flights under their own name using a Boeing 737-200 Advanced.

  • Europe: under call signs including Caledonian, Britannia Airways, Transaero, Ukraine international and Olympic Airways.
  • Africa: under call signs including Egypt Air, Air Africa, Air Gabon, Air Zimbabwe, Nigeria Airways, Sudan Air and Air Express.
  • Middle and Far East: including Malaysian Airlines, Royal Nepal and President Airlines from Cambodia.

Operations

Aviogenex is certified under EASA regulations and owns a Boeing 737-200 Stage III aircraft. Aviogenex' Airline Operator Certificate (AOC) was renewed in September 2009 by the Serbian CAD under EASA regulation.

Services

Aviogenex can provide aircraft and crew at short notice. The company can operate VIP flights and humanitarian aid cargo flights.

Aviogenex services include:
  • International and domestic charter operations
  • Aircraft lease with or without crew and technical personnel ("wet" or "dry" lease)
  • Transfer of technology/know-how and logistic support
  • AGX Engineering Dept maintains Boeing 727-200 and Boeing 737-200 aircraft, to "B"-check level, and operates maintenance facilities (workshops) for its own needs and for the needs of others
  • Aviogenex has a Training Center approved by the Ministry for Transportation of the Republic of Serbia for the education and training of its flight and ground staff, cockpit and cabin crew.
  • Carriage of cargo and special cargoes
  • Ad-hoc transport arrangements for special purposes (artistic tours, football matches, VIP flights etc.)

Aviogenex has developed ties with airlines across the world. The company maintains partnerships with Jat Airways and DHL Express.

Operating for Jat Airways

Aviogenex and Jat Airways extended their wet-lease agreement adding Aviogenex’ B737 to Jat Airways’s fleet operating scheduled and non-scheduled flights across Europe. Aviogenex have already operated services for Jat across Europe on scheduled flights (London, Rome, Milan, Athens, Stockholm, Moscow, Copenhagen, Skopje, Podgorica, Tivat ….) and non-scheduled flights (Monastir, Sharm el Sheikh, Hurgada, Bodrum, Donetsk, Zakynthos…).

Quality and safety

The Aviogenex quality system is based on ISO 9002 and is in accordance with EU-OPS regulations, which provide support in helping it achieve quality safety objectives. Aviogenex implements a Safety Management System that is fully integrated between Aviogenex AOC, Part M and EASA Part 145 Approvals.

In 2009 Aviogenex passed SAFA inspections on different international airports.

Maintenance

Aviogenex has authorizations to maintain aircraft in line with Part-145 of European Regulations. Its Engineering Department is entitled to maintain Boeing 737-200 aircraft, all the way to "B"-check level, and to operate certain maintenance facilities (workshops) for its own needs and for the needs of others.

Training

All pilots are ATP-rated and type-rated and pass technical and psychological tests.

The Company Training Manual is approved in part D of Operations Manual. The Training Department keeps all licenses up-to-date and keeps flight crew members trained in safety, security and human resources skills.

The Civil Aviation Directorate of Serbia's approval for Type Rating Training Organisation (TRTO) is in process, and is expected by the end of 2009.
