History of Avdeyevka Coke and Chemical Plant (AKHZ) started in 1963 when the first coke

 battery was commissioned and first coke produced. During the 1973-1980 period other four workshops were put into operation. Avdeyevka Coke plant was the first in the industry to develop chemicals production.

At present Avdeyevka Coke plant consists of 13 main and 30 auxiliary workshops and service structural divisions.

Production

Avdeyevka Coke is a top-five coke producer in Europe and the largest coke-producer in Ukraine. Currently AKHZ produces about 40 types of products, the share of the plant exceeds 20% of gross coke output in Ukraine. It sells coke to Azovstal, Yenakiieve Steel and Ilyich Steel as well as to customers outside of the Metinvest
