, with a population over 50,000 inhabitants, located on the hills to the north of the Nor Nork
district and east of Kanaker-Zeytun district. Avan has common borders with the distrcirs of Arabkir
, Nor Nork
and Kanaker-Zeytun. By the outer border it is adjacent to the Kotayk region.
The district is commonly divided into three smaller areas (neighborhoods): Avan, Avan-Arinj and Aghi Hanq.
