Atul is an industrial village developed due to the company Atul Ltd, located in District Valsad, State Gujarat, India. Althugh small village, it has very good educational and recreational facilities, banks, temples, post office and railway station. Its colony is also very well developed. The word Atul means incomparable.
) Atul has a population of 7356. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Atul has an average literacy rate of 84%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 55% of the males and 45% of females literate. 10% of the population is under 6 years of age. Atul, located on the bank of river Par, derives its name from the Lalbhai Group owned Atul Limited.
Arriving by express train one can get down at Valsad, which is 8 km away from Atul. From there you can come via bus or take an autorickshaw. Pooled autorickshaws are also available around 100 meters away from railway station for going to Atul First Gate.
If you are coming in passenger train, you have an option to get down at Atul railway station but you might have to walk down around 3 km from the railway station because autorickshaws might not be available at the railway station. A better option is to get down from train at Valsad railway station.
If you are coming from South side (i.e. Mumbai side) on National Highway No. 8, you will have to pass three overbridges of Killa Pardi, Vallabh Ashram School, a small overbridge, a bridge on the River Par and another bridge on its tributory. You will reach Atul shortly thereafter. Next overbridge will start when youn reach Atul. Atul Ltd, its colonies and guest houses are located on the left side of highway; so if you want to go there, take left lane before this overbridge and turn to left at the middle of the bridge.
If you are coming from North side (i.e. Vadodara / Surat side) on National Highway no. 8, Atul will come after Valsad. You will have to pass over the overbridge crossing the Valsad Dharamur Road and a bridge on Vanki River; and thereafter drive for around 5.5 Km. to reach Atul village. You will have to pass two overbridges [as in 2011] in this stretch, one at Sugar Factory and another where state highway meets national highway. Atul village starts from this second overbridge. A third overbridge is locared shortly thereafter, in the middle of Atul village. If you want to go to Atul Ltd, its colonies or guest houses, you will have to take side lane before this third overbridge starts and turn right from below this overbridge.
This is an English medium school, up to 12th standard.The school is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (ICSE), New Delhi.
Students of 9 & 10 appear for the ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education). Students of 11 & 12 appear for the ISC (Indian School Certificate).In 12th it provides education in Commerce and Science stream
For imparting the best possible education, the school has been divided into 4 academic stages
Pre-Primary – Nursery, Junior KG & Senior KG
Primary – Classes 1 to 4
Middle – Classes 5 to 8
Secondary – Classes 9 to 12

Hanuman Temple: It is 4.5 km away from Atul on Atul - Valsad Road.
Jalaram Bapa Temple: It is in Valsad [Tithal road] around 8 km from Atul.
Churches: There are two churches located in Valsad, 8 km away from Atul.
Parsi Agiyari: The holy place for Parsi, Udvada is around 10 km from Atul.
Saibaba Temple: It is at Tithal around 16 km from Atul.
Swaminarayan Temple: It is at Tithal around 17 km from Atul.

Atul Ltd has very well developed colonies for residence of its employees in Atul Village. The colonies are named as Down Colony, Up Colony, Atic Colony, Suvidha Colony, GJK colony etc. Three Guest Houses belonging to Atul Ltd are also located in the residencial area.

How to reach by rail
Atul is located on Western Railway on Mumbai (Bombay)-Surat segment. It is 187 km from Mumbai Central. It is 76 km from Surat, 205 km from Vadodara (Baroda), 305 km from Ahmedabad. While coming from Mumbai, it is the previous station before Valsad.Arriving by express train one can get down at Valsad, which is 8 km away from Atul. Kalyani School
This is Gujarati medium school, up to 12th standard, following Guj. SHE Board curriculum. One more school is located 2.5 km away from Atul. It is English medium school, up to 12th standard, following CBSE curriculum. It has hostel facilities for boys as well as girls. Its full name is 'M.G. M. Amin and V. N. Savani School'.Its the best school in times.

The village Atul was developed due to the company Atul Ltd which was established around 1950 here. Its chemical complex, located in Atul village, manufacturs dyes, agrochemicals, polymers, armatics, bulk chemical, bulk drugs and intermediates. Its manufacturing facilities are divided into East site [original Atul Ltd, manufacturing Agrochemicals, bulk chemicals and dyes and housiung corporate office], West site [Origianl Atic Industries Ltd, manufacturing Dyes] North site, also called PP site [Origianl Cibatul Ltd, manufacturing Polymers and Pharmaceuticals] and South site.Atul Ltd has very well developed colonies for residence of its employees in Atul Village. The colonies are named as Down Colony, Up Colony, Atic Colony, Suvidha Colony, GJK colony etc. Three Guest Houses belonging to Atul Ltd are also located in the residencial area.
