National Educational Radio was a division of the National Association of Educational Broadcasters, operating between 1963 and 1973 in the United States of America....

 (NER) dissolved in June 1973. In 1977 it merged with National Public Radio (NPR), which was then primarily a distributor of radio content. It was only after this merger that NPR became the broader public radio body it is today.
