Ashwant Dwivedi is a Canadian  businessperson and former diplomat. He was the Business Development Manager at the Fiji Embassy (Washington, D.C.)responsible for Canada. Delegated to the position in 2006, Fiji media praised his efforts in turning Fiji's export to Canada from low $2.8 million dollars to high $13 million dollars in a year period since taking his appointment. Mr. Dwivedi is currently the President and Chief Executive officer of the Canadian International Training & Education Corp www.citrec.com. Mr. Dwivedi's company is the only corporation presently offering Certified General Accounts (CGA) certification outside of Canadian through its partnership with CGA Canada http://www.cga-canada.org/en-ca/International/Pages/ca_mauritius.aspx.

Ashwant Dwivedi was recently also invited to speak to United National General Assembly (UNGA) delegates promoting closer education co-operation between Canada and Pacific Island countries. Those in attendance were reported to be Deputy Prime Ministers and senior members of the Pacific Island countries. Ashwant Dwivedi was commissioned as the Head of Business Development for the Fiji High Commission to Canada. He is also a former senior journalist with Fiji's national newspaper the Fiji Times

A aggressive business leader he turned Fiji's export into double in a one year period since taking the office in 2006. On Wednesday June 4, 2008 the Fiji Times quoted government of Canada reports that Fijis trade with Canada was record high valued at $12.8 million (CAD) while in 2007 Fijis total export to Canada was recorded at $11,198,866 CAD. In previous years the trade was reported at a low of CAD $2.8 million million dollars.[5]

Ashwant Dwivedi also maintains a close working relationship with various provincial governments in Canada. He is also reported to have organised for senior level diplomatic visits of United Nations top diplomats to Canada or trade and diplomatic meetings. Ashwant Dwivedi is also known as a close ally of the Canadian Conservative Government (Ruling) and friends with influential political pundits.

 instigated a legal challenge against a Canadian company that was using Fiji on its Label for canned fish that did not originate from Fiji. The office of the Prime Minister in Fiji with the support of the Fiji Embassy to Canada challenged the application of the Canadian company preventing it from using the FIJI brand. Despite his resignation from the Fiji Embassy, Ashwant Dwivedi is respected as a strong proponent of promoting a stronger trade and commerce relationship between Fiji and Canada.
