Ashok Soota

Ashok Soota was the co-founder and executive chairman of the India
n IT consulting company MindTree. Earlier he was the CEO of Wipro
Infotech from 1984 to 1999. Soota holds a B.E. degree in electrical engineering from University of Roorkee and a MBA from the Asian Institute of Management
in the Philippines. His first job was with the Shriram Group of Industries in 1965. He co-founded Mindtree in 1999. Besides his corporate roles, he has been the president of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) during 2002-03, and has served on the Indian Prime Minister's task force for development of the IT industry. Also, he is currently a member of the Advisory Council of World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva.
On January 28,2011 he sent a mail to media that he has requested the Board to release him by March 31 as an employee and also as executive chairman / member of the Board. The Board has accepted his resignation.
On 5th April 2011 , he announced about his new IT venture "Happiest Minds Technologies Private Limited".
