. The Copperheads went 30-25 in 2011 and made the CPL playoffs for the second consecutive year. However, they were eliminated in the opening round of the playoffs by West Division rival Forest City. The 30 regular season wins were a franchise record and only three other teams in the CPL had a better regular season won-loss record than the Copperheads. Donnie Wilson, an assistant coach with College of the Sequoias in California, has completed two seasons as the team's field manager and plans to return in 2012. Asheboro hosted the CPL Petitt Cup tournament in 2006 and the league's all-star game in 2008.
