Armstrong Teasdale is a full-service firm with main practice areas in corporate services, financial services, intellectual property, international, litigation and real estate. It has had the largest patent practice in St. Louis, according to the St. Louis Business Journal, and Armstrong Teasdale was recognized by Intellectual Property Today magazine as one of the “2010 Top Patent Firms” in the country. We became the first Missouri law firm named to the list in 2009.
Reflecting its growing representation of cutting edge technology clients, the firm moved its headquarters in 2010 to a state of the art, “green” building located in the St. Louis suburb of Clayton.

Armstrong Teasdale established a presence in China in 1994 and was awarded a license to open a foreign law office in Shanghai in 2000 by the PRC Ministry of Justice. Armstrong Teasdale is also a member of the China Alliance, an arrangement with three leading independent law firms with practices in China's business and regulatory centers.
In 2005, the firm launched The PREVENE Group, which evaluates corporate compliance programs and company practices from a prosecutor’s perspective. The group is headed by James G. Martin, a former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri. The firm’s other subsidiaries are Environmental, LLC, which helps clients reduce environmental risks; Development Dynamics(D2), which provides an array of economic development advisory services; and Lawgical Choice,which uses advanced technology to organize and present relevant case information in a targeted, trial-ready format.

History
It was founded in 1901 by business lawyers Thomas Harper Cobbs and John E. Bishop. The name changed to Cobbs, Logan, Armstrong, Teasdale & Roos in 1949. The firm’s expansion includes two mergers, one with the St. Louis-based Schlafly, Griesedieck, Toft & Virtel in 1986 and the other with Kansas City-based firm of Dietrich, Davis, Dicus, Rowlands, Schmitt & Gorman in 1989.Armstrong Teasdale established a presence in China in 1994 and was awarded a license to open a foreign law office in Shanghai in 2000 by the PRC Ministry of Justice.
