 when shortly after take-off the aircraft was shot at by two surface to air missiles which narrowly missed the plane. The pilots decided to carry on with the flight and landed the aircraft safely at Ben Gurion International Airport

. At first the pilots did not think it was a terrorist attack but a bird strike instead when the aircraft was rocked; this was until they heard of the hotel bombings in Kenya. After hearing of the bombing they thought it could be a missile attack on the aircraft. The attack left two trails behind the left wings. Passengers on the flight reported seeing small explosions before the aircraft rocked slightly.
