Aristeo Pedroza

Aristeo Pedroza was a Catholic priest and a Cristero Brigadier General who participated in the Cristero War. Father Pedroza ordered the execution of the General Victoriano Ramirez (of “the Fourteen”) and, in order to avoid dissent within the Cristeros, because “the Fourteen” were very esteemed, he resolved to fulfill the sentence immediately. The first major victory of the Cristeros was in San Francisco del Rincón

, an attack mounted by father Pedroza and Lauro Rocha on the 5th of April 1929, waging a valiant battle in the environs than today it is the Colonia Cuauhtemoc. He died July 3, 1929 . After his death the Cristero heads of the state of Guanajuato like Luciano Serrano, Primitivo Jimenez and Jose Padron were captured and killed and in Zacatecas almost all the CCristeros officials, including Pedro Quintanar and Majorcan Porfirio, were killed.
