Geography

A few farmlands are around the area. The mountains that are mainly filled with grasslands and rocks covers around the area, forests are found mainly in low lying areas. Its nearby bay is to the south.

dates back to ancient times, but at the time of independence the settlement was as Asprospitia. After World War II

, the whole town was rebuilt by the mid to late 1950s. The village population boomed and aluminum was mined later on producing a part of its economy. Tourism also contributed to its growth, agriculture, commercial and services are its next industry.
