Watson's career began with the group Return Ticket in Europe; he later toured with the group Praze. His eponymous album was released by Amherst Records in 1985, as well as such singles

He rejoined the Chi-Lites in 1998. When Marshall Thompson was jailed in 2001, Frank Reed rejoined the group alongside Watson. Watson left the group on July 15, 2009.
