In 1993, Ogborn journeyed to India and became an initiated member of the Hijra community, which she continues to be an active member of to today.

She continues her activism for transgender and all general human rights activism. Anne attempted to start a school for Hijra women in India. The plans for the school was discontinued when the Hijra community expressed interest in other ways to help them.
