Anjangaon is a city and a municipal council
in Amravati district
in the state of Maharashtra

. Basically there are twin cities, Anjangaon and Surji, on either side of river Shahanur, and are called Anjangaon-Surji in combination.
The Deonath Math was established approximately more than 300 years before. Saint Ruplal Maharaj established a famous Vitthal Mandir in this town. In Surji area Dwarkeshwar Yatra is a major event to be held every year on second day of Pola festival. There are variety of religious activities like Piwali Marbat, Saptaha, Rupalal Punyatithi, etc. This is a city of betel leaves. Previously betel leaves were exported from here to Indonesia, Pakistan and Arebian countries. Now this place is known for cultivation of Piper nigrum, a medicinal plant.

Anjangaon is located at 21.08°N 75.6°E. It has an average elevation of 475 metres (1558 feet).History
Anjangaon Surji is an ancient town having religious and historical importance. The Treaty of Surji-Anjungaon was signed on December 30, 1803 between the British and Daulat Rao Sindhia, chief of the Maratha people.The Deonath Math was established approximately more than 300 years before.
