Animal Cops: Miami is an American documentary
reality television series that premiered in 2010 on Animal Planet
. The program follows the work of the investigators and animal control officers employed by the Miami-Dade Animal Services Department in Miami-Dade County, Florida
. The series is part of an umbrella rotation of shows known collectively as Animal Planet Heroes.

The main difference, however, is that during the production of Miami Animal Police, the Animal Services Department was operated as a unit of the Miami-Dade Police Department
and was known as the Animal Services Unit. The unit was separated from MDPD, hired a full time director and became a stand alone county department in 2005. Animal Cops: Miami shows the work of the post-separation Animal Services Department.
