History

The place was mentioned for the first time as "the church near Anif" in 788. In 1782, the Grimm brothers recorded in his Brixener Volksbuch a local tale about a peasant and a Wilde Woman (Wilde Frau). Anif as a village of its own with its part Niederalm was separated from the neighbour village Grödig
