He played in the CONCACAF's Champions League 2008-09, with Club Deportivo Marathón of Honduras.

In September 2009, Furtado was banned from football by the Costa Rica football federation after being tested positive for betamethasone.

International career

He also played with Costa Rica in the UNCAF Cup 2009, which took place in Tegucigalpa
