As a junior in 2008, Means played in 59 games for the Hoosiers and hit .357 with 12 doubles, eight triples, two home runs, 72 runs, 32 RBI and 33 stolen bases in 39 attempts. Also, named first team All-Big Ten following Junior Season.
Following his junior season, Means was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds
in the 11th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball Draft
. He finished his collegiate career with 157 games played and a .348 batting average, 203 hits, 120 runs scored and 78 runs batted in. He stole 76 bases in 87 attempts for an 87.3 success rate.
