Ancylocerataceae
Encyclopedia
The Ancylocerataceae is a superfamily of typically uncoilded and loosely coilded ammonoids, presently comprising nine families, the Acrioceratidae Ancyloceratidae Crioceratitidae, Hemihoplitidae, Heteroceratidae, Himantoceratidae, Labeceratidae, Leptoceratoididae, and Ptychoceratidae .

The Treatise (Part L, Ammonoidea) puts the Ancylocertaceae in the suborder Lytoceratina along with the Lytocerataceae, Turrilitaceae, and Scaphitaceae.

The Ancylocerataceae have been given the alternative name, Ancycloceratoidea, to conform with the recent ruling of the ICZN which gives invertebrate superfamilies the same ending as long used for subclasses.
