Anavryto is a community divided into two villages, Ano Anavryto which is on the western part of mount Tsiberou, and Kato Anavryto on the other side of the valley, west of Anavryto.

About Anavryto

Anavryto has a school in the north end, a church named Agia Marina, a mailbox, and transmitters for Megalopoli on top of Tsiberou. The eastern part has one street name. Ano Anavryto is bypassed to the east. Kato Anavryto is mainly residential. Much of the area are deforested and rocky. The center of Ano Anavryto is in the eastern part while residential homes are to the west. Much of the population left and much of the houses are abandoned. Its population had age and the median age is around 60 to 70 and is expected to become a ghost town or a village that all of its inhabitants will be for summer use or have their winter houses. Kato Anavryto ended its long decline and the population restored its growth by nearly 9%.

, its buildings were rebuilt.

Until the 1960s, the village was isolated, it did not have electricity and didn't have paved roads or the little perimeter road. Until the mid-1980s, many of the houses were stone-built. Anavryto was struck by a forest fire on Sunday August 26, 2007 during the late afternoon hours; the area was ravaged along with its forests, flames arrived from the neighbouring Anemodouri, several houses were burnt, several were saved, firefighters along with choppers and airplanes battled the blaze and continued through the night. The flames did not advance into Paparis to the east but to the south but slowly.
