The Analysis and Forecasting Centre (Centre d’analyse et de prévision or CAP) is a French government think-tank. It was set up in July 1973 by the then Foreign Minister, Michel Jobert
. It analyses the international environment, makes strategic recommendations and guarantees a French presence in European and international circles of reflection and debate. It became known to the wider public when it appeared it contained some of the protagonists of the 1979-1984 second Clearstream affair - Jean-Louis Gergorin
