Amarildo Souza do Amaral, better known as Amarildo (born 2 October 1964) is a former Brazilian footballer
who played as a forward.
In his career he played matches in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A
for four different teams; Americano
(1983; 6 matches), Botafogo
(1984–1985; 12), Internacional
(1986–1987; 26 matches) and São Paulo FC (1995; 11). He also played a match for Bahia
in the Copa do Brasil
in 1996.
After his spell at Botafogo he played for Inter Limeira and XV de Piracicaba
in the Brazilian lower levels. In 1986–87 he played in the Brazilian top-flight with Internacional, and Amarildo played for Taubate
in 1987 and 1988.
He played in La Liga
in Spain with Celta de Vigo
(1988–89), and then again with CD Logroñés
in 1992–93. In between his spells in Spain he played in Italy for Lazio
and then Cesena
. After his time at Logrones he had a number of stints with Portuguese side Famalicao
, and he also had further spells in Brazil with Uniao Sao Joao
and Bahia
