Amanullah made his first-class debut for Kalat during the 1969-70 season. In the only game in which he played for Kalat, he scored 8 runs in the only innings in which he batted, being absent hurt in the second innings.
Between 1970 and 1972, Amanullah made seven first-class appearances for National Bank of Pakistan, scoring a first-class best of 37 not out against Pakistan International Airlines B.
