Alternative Education Resource Organization

The Alternative Education Resource Organization or AERO is a non-profit organization founded in 1989 to advance learner-centred approaches to education. AERO is considered by many to be the primary hub of communications and support for educational alternatives around the world.

AERO is also the host of an annual conference called the AERO Conference, held this past August at the Red Lion Hotel at Jantzen Beach in Portland, Oregon

AERO has over 500 member schools and organizations as well as many individual members. It publishes Education Revolution Magazine both in print and online. Their bookstore exclusively distributes many rare alternative education books and DVD's not available elsewhere. It has online courses and other resources for people starting new educational alternatives.
