 as it joined the Alsager Community Trust. The Alsager Community Trust is Co-Operative Trust in which all the primary schools in Alsager are members.

Alsager School is situated opposite the Manchester Metropolitan University campus (former Cheshire County Training College), next to Christ Church, Alsager

 and Alsager Leisure Centre, and is attended by over 1300 pupils from the local area.

History

In 2008 the school made local and then national newspapers after a teacher allegedly forced pupils to 'pray to Allah', or get a detention.

May 2009 saw the teacher hit the front pages of local papers yet again. This time informing the public that 'Cheshire East had dismissed her following an "irretrieveable breakdown of communication" with her bosses'.

In September 2011, Richard Middlebrook replaced David Black as Headteacher.

Academic performance

The school gets results above the England average at GCSE
General Certificate of Secondary Education

 and the eighth best in Cheshire. At A level it gets results above the England average. Following the September 2009 Ofsted inspection, it was rated Good, point two on a four point scale.
