Boulala has pioneered skating manoeuvres, featured in skateboarding videos, featured on the front cover of Transworld Skateboarding magazine and designed his own shoes. About 100,000 skateboards have been sold carrying his name since he turned professional in 1997.

Boulala was sentenced to jail in 2008, for 4 years (2 years no parole) due to the death of Cross and was released March 12 2010. Boulala is a member of the Piss Drunx along with Jim Greco, Andrew Reynolds, Erik Ellington, and Dustin Dollin.

Boulala's pro model board in 2033 which depicted Boulala sitting on a motorcycle with a bottle of beer in his hand was pulled from retailers after the incident.

He is currently living in Stockholm with his Australian wife Amanda.

His first pro model board since release, a colorway of Flip's P2 production series, has come out recently.
According to the Flip website, Boulala aspires to skate once again.

In 2010, Boulala was added to the Kr3w Clothing Team.

Boulala had an interview in a recent 2010 Transworld skateboarding magazine talking about the death of Am skateboarder Shane Cross, the accident that nearly took his life, skateboarding and getting married.

He recently went on a Kr3w tour throughout Europe with the likes of Lizard King, Tom Penny, Horsey, Vaughn Baker and Photographer Shad Lambert.
