Alex Obomese is a former American football
player. He attended Westbury High School
and graduated in 2002 then he later attended UTEP
. He played college football at UTEP from 2003 to 2005. In 2005, Obomese was selected as a second-team All-Conference USA
player and totaled 57 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 10.5 tackles for loss and 2 interceptions. He was not drafted in the NFL Draft. He participated in training camp with the Dallas Cowboys
in the summer of 2007 but did not make the regular season roster. He was drafted with the 30th pick in the 5th round of the 2008 All-America Football League Draft by Team Alabama.
College
UTEP senior Alex Obomese was NationalChamps.net Preseason All-American. He was named to the watch list for the Ted Hendricks Award, presented to the nation's top defensive end. He was also a preseason candidate for the award in 2005. He was also was named to the watch list for the Rotary Lombardi Award in 2006. One of the Conference USA's best all-around defenders. The 250-pound senior is a pass rushing terror who got better last season against the run. He's more of an outside linebacker playing end with the speed and quickness to be strong in pass coverage.

Third team All-Conference USA as voted by the coaches and media. He and was fourth on the team with 57 tackles, 3.0 sacks, 3.5 tackles for losses, 3 pass deflections, and two forced fumbles.
2005 Season
Second team All-Conference USA as voted by the coaches and media … led the team with 6.5 sacks (50 yards) and was sixth on the team with 57 tackles (25 solo) … also had 10.5 tackles for losses (62 yards), two interceptions (nine yards), three pass break-ups and one forced fumble … rated third in C-USA and tied for 76th in the NCAA with 0.5 sacks per game … had tackles for losses in nine of 12 games and more than one in three outings … had five or more tackles in five games … career-best 11 tackles (one solo), including a TFL, a forced fumble and his first career interception against Houston … second interception came against Marshall … two sacks (23 yards) against Texas Southern … one and a half sacks (nine yards) at New Mexico State … eight tackles (four solo) and 1.5 TFLs (five yards) at SMU.
