Alex Agnew is a Belgian stand up comedian. In February 2003 Alex was the first Belgian to win the prestigious Leids Cabaret Festival.

After this initial success he has been performing in comedy shows like De Bovenste Plank and Comedy Casino on the Belgian television channel
Television channel
A television channel is a physical or virtual channel over which a television station or television network is distributed. For example, in North America, "channel 2" refers to the broadcast or cable band of 54 to 60 MHz, with carrier frequencies of 55.25 MHz for NTSC analog video and...

 Canvas.

Alex is the son of an English father and a Flemish mother. He is influenced by an overdose of (action)movies, superheroes, comic books, a lot of music, ranging from Tom Jones and musicals to heavy metal and the new age his sister played.
He brings no calm, intellectual, profound comedy but genuine rock 'n' roll comedy. He is not only a praiseworthy singer,( which he proves with his band DIABLO BLVD) he also produces - similar to Najib Amhali - sound effects. He has a very dynamic show and he does not hesitate to broach sensitive subjects. Agnew has been quoted saying that he does not consider taboos to be useful because a taboo inherently is a form of self censoring.

His first solo comedy show, "KA-BOOM!", spanned the whole 2005-2006 season. Early 2007 Alex kicked off his new show, "Morimos Solamente". Since January 2009, Alex is touring in Belgium with his new show called "More Human Than Human".

Agnew's girlfriend runs a popular comedy club, The Joker, in Antwerp.
