Afytos is a village in the Chalkidiki prefecture, northern Greece
. It is part of the municipality Kassandra, and located 84 km southeast of Thessaloniki
and 47 km south of Polygyros
. Its 2001 population was 1,227. Its elevation is 50 m. The GR-61
(Thessaloniki - Pefkochori - Kassandreia) passes by and is north of the junction at Kallithea.
The village has about 5 km of paved road, 6 to 7 of gravel road and 4 to 5 km of hydro and phone lines.
. Afytos also has a beach and tourism forms a part of its industry other than agriculture. During the later centuries, nothing became known from Afytos and most of its sources dates back as early as the 14th century. During the revolution in 1821
, many revolutionaries and fighters with origins from the villages were leaders of the event including Triantafyllos Garoufallou, Georgios Panagiotou and Anastassios Kiriazis. Tourism rose after World War II.

, its buildings were rebuilt and emigration was not as high as other parts of Greece. In 1997, the ex-community (now a village and a municipal district) joined to become the newly formed municipality of Anthidonas.
The folklore museum was founded in 1980 by the folklore councillor Nikos Paralis. The museum is located in the building of the Alevras family.
Councils and clubs include the Folklore Friendship Council and Afytos Tradition. It also has a local soccer team that plays in the prefectural first division (see Halkidiki FCA).
