Following his retirement from hurling Ronan immediately became involved in team management. He enjoyed a hugely successful tenure as manager of the Danesfort club side for four years. Ronan was appointed manager of the Kilkenny minor hurling team in November 2010.

Biography

Ronan was part of the Graigue-Ballycallan team of the late 90s and very early 00s which claimed 2 Kilkeny County titles, one Leinster title and were beaten in 2001 by Athenry in the All-Ireland Club hurling final. He continued to play senior club hurling until recently but the past number of years has turned out for Graigue-Ballycallan Junior B team in goal, and more recently outfield again, and played a big role in them winning the North Kilkenny Final in 2008. Unfortunately "Ronnie" didn't taste success on that occasion as his side were beaten by Piltown, who went on to contest the All-Ireland Final.

Adrian Ronan spent four years as manager of the Danesfort hurling team, during his time he brought them from Junior to an Intermediate county final. The highlight of his tender was the 2007 Junior all Ireland victory over Clooney Gael's in Croke Park.

On the morning of November 3, 2009 a group of armed men entered the Ronan household and took Mrs. Ronan hostage, before sending Adrian to work, in the Bank of Ireland

 branch in Kilkenny City to take money. Although Adrian did get some money, the gang did not contact him again to retrieve the money. His wife was later found unharmed.
