During an interview for Evergreen, Land stated "I have been taking drama classes since I was in, like 2nd grade. But they have all been for the stage, none for the film. And I never considered film." she later stated "I never thought it was an option, because so many great actors don't ever get a chance. And also, I just... love the stage and didn't think I wanted to do film.".

Addie had spent many years training at the nationally prominent Seattle Children's Theatre

 when she was recommended to the director, Enid Zentelis, as a possible fit for the lead role in an indie movie to be filmed in the Pacific Northwest. Addie then won the part in the open audition. The movie, Evergreen, was in the dramatic competition at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival

Addie won much praise for her portrayal of the lead character.

She was then cast as the lead girl in The Sasquatch Gang (2006), a comedy by the producer and many others from the Napoleon Dynamite
