History

AdaptCMS was started in 2006 by Charlie Page from Insane Visions. v1.0 of AdaptCMS was released July 7, 2007 and was available for $50/domain.

On November 17, 2007 the switch and split of AdaptCMS was announced, making an AdaptCMS Lite under GNU General Public License

and a commercial version, AdaptCMS Pro available for $25/domain.

Two months after the announcement, on January 19, 2008, AdaptCMS Lite was released. On January 23, 2008 AdaptCMS Pro was released.

On March 8, 2008 the second installment of AdaptCMS Lite, v1.1, was released, followed by AdaptCMS Pro v1.1 being released on March 12, 2008. A major release of AdaptCMS was made on May 6, 2008, fixing numerous bug fixes and enhanced security enhancements, AdaptCMS Pro v1.2 and AdaptCMS Lite v1.2.

Another "Major Release" of AdaptCMS was released on July 18, 2008, AdaptCMS Pro 1.3 and AdaptCMS Lite 1.3, which included bug fixes, security enhancements and a host of new features. The sixth version of AdaptCMS, AdaptCMS 1.4, was released after delays on January 24, 2009. The last version of AdaptCMS 1.x was released on July 5, 2009, AdaptCMS 1.5. ("AdaptCMS 1.5 is the last version until the big 2.0" )

AdaptCMS 2.0.0 was released August 17th 2011, 2 years after the 1.5 version. This version features a new look, social function and improved performance.
