He played with Coventry City
's YTS as an apprentice. Adam played both Youths and Reserves and trained regularly with Coventry's first team under manager Mickey Adams and later Ian Dowie.
In 2008 Adam was sent to try out for the reality television show, Football Superstar
. The winner of the show would earn the right to a contract with Sydney FC
, and with Hett being declared the winner, he jumped straight into Sydney's youth team. After impressing coach John Kosmina
Adam was selected in the first team squad for the A-league season opener against Melbourne Victory
.
As part of his prize on Football Superstar, he was given a scholarship to Macquarie University in North Ryde, just outside of Sydney.
Hett tore his ACL during training and was unable to play for 12 months. He underwent a knee reconstruction in August 2008 and was recovering ahead of schedule.
Adam is presently in 2nd Year University at Macquarie in Sydneyand an active member of the local community, working casually at Kennards Hire Artarmon most weekends. He is currently signed with Northern Tigers FC
, playing in the NSW Super League.
