The Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (commonly abbreviated ADNEC) is an exhibition centre in Abu Dhabi
. It was opened by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates
on February 18, 2007. The venue is the largest exhibition centre in the Middle East with 73,000sqm of indoor event space.
ADNEC stages around 100 exhibitions, conferences, live events and weddings every year and receives approximately 1.8 million visitors every year.
In 2009, ADNEC was named as the Middle East Leading Exhibition Centre at the World Travel Awards. The venue also won the title of Best Meetings Venue at the 2009 Middle East Event Awards.
The success of the exhibition centre has stimulated development around it, most notable the Capital Centre
and Capital Gate
projects.
