The Gulf Daily News reported that the two men had recently been transferred to a prison in Damman, in eastern Saudi Arabia, nearer to Bahrain.

On August 2, 2010, Newsblaze speculated that Saudi officials had not complained about a recent incident where Bahraini police had been recorded beating a Saudi citizen because Saudi Arabia did not want to explain its detentin of Al Murbati, Khalil Janahi and Abdullah Al Nuaimi.
