History

Abbotsford Preparatory School was founded as Caius House School in 1908, and was originally located on Church Road, Urmston before moving to its present location on Flixton Road in the 1990s.

Abbotsford is now part of the Global Education Management Systems (GEMS) group of schools.

Houses

Pupils are split into traditional year groups, (Pre-school, Reception, Years 1-6), although each pupil is also a member of one of four Houses, which compete in against each other in competitions. The Houses are named after trees:
  • Oak
  • Rowan
  • Ash
  • Beech
