AVI Foodsystems is a US foodservice
company. AVI was founded in 1960 and is the largest independently owned foodservice company in the United States. AVI Foodsystems offers full-line cafeteria services as well as vending services, both seen often in schools and other institutions.
AVI Foodsystems was previously known as Automatic Vendors, Inc and changed its name to its current one in December 1988.
In July 2009, the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
filed a lawsuit against AVI Foodsystems for failing to allow employees with disabilities to return to work without a full-duty, no-restriction doctor's release. AVI paid $90,000 and offered jobs to settle the lawsuit.
