Host Selection

Singapore was selected to host the 28th Southeast Asian Games of 2015 during the 26th Southeast Asian Games, being held at Palembang and Jakarta, Indonesia. Singapore was supposed to host the 24th Southeast Asian Games of 2007, but the city-state refused to give way to rebuilt their Sports Hub. They were selected once again for the 2013 games, but they also refused.

By the time the city will host the games, it will be 22 years after Singapore hosted the biennial event.
