Swimming

The swimming competition will feature races in a long course (50 m) pool in 40 events (20 for males, 20 for females; 17 individual events and 3 relays for each gender). The events will be held at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center from July 24–31. The United States currently leads the medal count in the swimming competition with twelve golds. The United States came out on top in the gold medal count in the swimming competition with sixteen golds. A total of two world records were set during the swimming competition.
