1st International School of Ostrava (1stISO) is a private, coeducational school located in Ostrava
, Czech Republic
. Founded in 2005 as a secondary school, it grew into an institution educating children of virtually all ages.
1) International kindergarten for children aged 3–6;
2) International primary school for children aged 6–11;
3) Bilingual secondary school for children aged 12–19.
In the year of 2006 ISO moved to a newly reconstructed building in the centre of the city of Ostrava.
The school provides educational services for both international and Czech students preparing them for later studies at universities. Subjects including Geography, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Social Science, History, English, Czech and Physical Education are taught in English.
There is a variety of nationalities among teachers and students. The school is creating multicultural English environment accepting people of any culture or ethnic group.
1stISO cooperates with Prague British School, International School of Prague
, and Sunnerbogymnasiet Ljungby from Sweden.

1st ISO Model United Nations Club was set up to give students the opportunity to become diplomats and discuss issues concerning our planet. It holds regular meetings, organizes its own conferences, and participates at others abroad.
Sports day is regularly held in December with students and teacher competing in various sports, such as football, floorball, or basketball.
1st ISO Cricket Team started in 2007 and has since participated in all tournaments, matches, and exhibitions. It won 2nd place at an international tournament in Prague and the students of the school also represented the Czech Republic in an international exhibition match.

History
The school was founded in 2005 and opened its door for the one and only class. In the third year of its existence, however, the number of students was almost 300 and was expected to grow in the following years.In the year of 2006 ISO moved to a newly reconstructed building in the centre of the city of Ostrava.
Present
As of 2008, the 1st ISO dwells in four buildings in the centre of Ostrava located in close proximity to each other.The school provides educational services for both international and Czech students preparing them for later studies at universities. Subjects including Geography, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Social Science, History, English, Czech and Physical Education are taught in English.

International Projects
The school participates in various international exchange programmes, projects, and conferences. 1st ISO has taken part in the Copernicus Program in Estonia (2006), Ireland(2007), and Belarus(2008), and at the KLIMUN 08' conference in Malaysia. School Activities
